WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- The Denison men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 setback at Otterbein University on Wednesday night.

The Cardinals broke the scoreless tie in the 38th minute when Gabe Sharrock scored off an assist from Tiger Pham. The home team doubled its advantage in the 41st minute when Sharrock and Pham helped Eric Stuckey find the back of the net. Otterbein added another insurance goal in the 81st minute after Pau Piang scored off a Liam Heard assist.

The Cards (6-2) outshot the Big Red 20-13, including a 11-8 edge in shots on frame. The two squads combined for 25 fouls, four cards and seven offsides calls. Vitor Rocha paced the DU offense with three shots on frame, while Ethan Miracle had two attempts on goal. Denison's Dylan Brown and Otterbein's Collin Hoffmann each registered eight saves on the night.

Denison (3-4-1) will open North Coast Athletic Conference play this Saturday night (Sept. 28) when they host Ohio Wesleyan. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Barclay-Thomsen Field.
