Big Red men take down Wooster, 7-2

WOOSTER, Ohio— No. 26 Denison traveled to the College of Wooster on Saturday for a cross-divisional matchup with the Fighting Scots at the Aspen Racquet Club.  The Big Red took two of three doubles points and five of six singles points en route to a 7-2 win over the Scots.

At No. 1 singles, Vlad Rotnov defeated Joaquin Abos Amo, 6-2, 6-1.  Tim Cianciola took down Austin Hanna, 7-5, 7-5 in the third flight and Kevin Brown took care of Nate Devereux, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4.

Patrick McGuigan (7-5, 6-2) and Brian Weisberg (6-1, 6-3) earned straight-set wins over Nebyou Minassie and Jesse DeWitt, respectively.

In doubles action, Mitchell Thai and Cianciola prevailed 8-2 at No. 1 while Rotnov and Weisberg won by the same score at No. 3.

Denison improves to 6-4 with the win while Wooster drops to 5-8.  The Big Red will host No. 12 Kenyon on Wednesday (April 3) at 4:30 p.m.
