GRANVILLE, Ohio - The 24th ranked Denison men's tennis team improved to 3-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference West Division on Friday evening following an 8-1 victory over Wabash College at the Denison Tennis Courts in Granville.

Despite suffering an 8-2 loss to the Little Giants in No. 1 doubles, the Big Red recovered with back-to-back victories on the doubles courts to take a 2-1 advantage into singles play. In No. 2 action, the combo of Kevin Brown and Blake Burstein defeated Nieshaal Thambipillay and Lukas Senn 8-4 to tie the match at one win each.

Denison took the match lead on the No. 3 court when Vlad Rotnov and Brian Weisberg tallied an 8-0 sweep over Duncan Roy and Evan Frank to leave doubles play with the advantage.

The Big Red took control of Wabash in singles play when Denison swept six-straight matches, including five, two-set victories to garner the win. Freshman Tim Cianciola opened singles play with a top-flight victory over Patrick McAuley, 6-1, 6-3. Rotnov followed on the No. 2 court with a 6-1, 6-0 defeat of Andrew Denning, and Mitchell Thai recovered from a loss in the second set to take down Roy in No. 3 play, 6-1, 3-6, 10-6.

Patrick McGuigan, Jacob Dennen, and Julian Janczak also garnered victories to round out the team win for DU. The Big Red improved to 9-5 overall while Wabash dropped to 8-11.

Denison will return to the courts on Saturday, April 13 when they host DePauw University for Senior Day at 2 p.m.
