Men travel to KSU and Kenyon

The Denison men's indoor track & field team sent split squads to Kent State University and Kenyon College on Saturday afternoon. 

At the unscored Kent State Tune-Up, DU was led by first-year Wallace Branche who placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 45'1".  In the 800 meter run, Jon Brachna posted a time of 1:58.18 for a 15th place finish while Sam Posniewski, Chad Kosanovich and Ryan Keller also competed in the event.

In the mile, Kosanovich paced DU with a 24th place showing.  Jacob Ott and Mitch Keller also participated.  John Williamson, Sam Beech, Brian Myers and Steven Johnson all ran in the 5,000 meters with Williamson leading the pack with a 36th place finish.

At Kenyon College, Quenton Richards and Jordan Patterson led Denison.  Richards took third in the high jump and placed fifth in the 60 meter dash (7.30).  Patterson edged his teammate in the 60 dash, placing third in 7.27 seconds.  He also was third in the 200 meter dash (22.92).  The pair also ran on the third-place 4x200 relay with Joe Nichols and Ian Mulmat.

In the 800 meter run, Stephen Czujko placed 10th in 2:04.67 and Corey Black was sixth in 2:03.12.  Jordan Dekel was ninth in the 3,000 meters while Will Mason placed eighth in the 5K in 17:34.00.  Also scoring for DU was the 4x400 relay of Mulmat, Czujko, Ivan Hall and Black.

Denison will host its annual Last Chance Meet next Saturday (Feb. 23) at the Mitchell Fieldhouse.
