Denison sophomore Quenton Richards was named North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for men's sprinters and hurdlers following his performance at the first-ever Bob Shannon Invitational hosted by Denison University.
Richards racked up three top-4 performances last Saturday at the Mitchell Fieldhouse. In the 60-meter dash, Richards shaved one thousandth of a second off his school record time. He took second in the event with a time of 7.01. The sophomore was also runner-up in the high jump (5'10") and placed fourth in the 200 dash with a personal-best time of 23.27.
Richards is the second DU athlete this season to earn NCAC Athlete of the Week honors. Two weeks ago, sophomore Wallace Branche was named Men's Field Athlete of the Week after helping the Big Red finish second at the annual Denison Lid-Lifter.
DU returns to action next Saturday when they travel to Westerville, Ohio for the annual All-Ohio Championship hosted by Otterbein University. Events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
