TERRE HAUTE, Ind.- Denison men's cross country finished fifth at the 2016 North Coast Athletic Conference Championships from Terre Haute, Indiana. The Big Red finished with 156 points, 47 points behind fourth place Ohio Wesleyan. The team championship was captured by Allegheny College with 44 points.
The Big Red's top performer in the 8K men's race was senior Jake Dennie who placed 12th overall with a time of 26:26. Dennie covered the course at a 5:19 pace. His 12th place finish landed him on the All-NCAC second-team.
Niall Clancey followed in 26th place after crossing the finish with a time of 27:35. Patrick Dunn and Drake Lohnes followed in 38th and 39th place, respectively. Dunn edged his teammate by one second, clocking in at 28:10.
Fifth through seventh for the Big Red went to Zach Cove, Jack Marchetti and Ben Foster. Cove posted a time of 28:21 while Marchetti finished in 28:29. Foster followed four seconds behind Marchetti at 28:33.
The individual champion of the meet was Allegheny's Dan Cheung who finished in 25:17 which was 19 seconds in front of second-place Zach Batt of DePauw.
