Men's XC closes season at NCAA Regional

HOLLAND, Mich.—Denison men's cross country closed the books on the 2016 season with a 20th place finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by Hope College.  The Big Red totaled 578 points to finish three points in front of 21st place Adrian College.

Denison's top two finishers were Jake Dennie and Niall Clancey who placed 59th and 72nd overall, respectively.  Dennie ran the 8K course in 26:12.2 and Clancey followed in 26:23.7.

Denison's third and fourth best finishers were Drake Lohnes who took ended in 141st with a time of 27:27.9.  Ben Foster followed in 152nd place in 27:41.7 and Zach Cove was right behind in 154th in 27:42.6.

Positions 6-7 went to Clayton Watters (164th – 27:55.3) and Patrick Dunn (28:19.2). 

Calvin College won the team championship with 63 points powered by five top-20 finishes.  Allegheny's Dan Cheung won the race with a time of 24:44.4.
