Denison closes season at NCAA Regional

POWELL, Ohio--  The Denison men's cross country team closed out the 2017 season on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championship, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University at Liberty Park.  Denison placed 20th out of 36 teams with 582 points.

Denison sophomore Benjamin Foster paced the Big Red with a 65th place finish and a time of 26:59.0 on the 8K course.  Following second for Denison was Jack Marchetti in 98th place in 27:28.5.

The Big Red's third, fourth and fifth place finishers all finished within 17 spots of each other.  Clayton Watters crossed the finish line in 28:00.1 to place 130thAdam Cromwell placed 142nd out of 242 runners with a time of 28:16.8.  Separated by only four runners, Zach Munn clocked in at 28:19.2 to place 147th to round out the scoring for DU.

Denison's sixth finisher was Rhys Fitschen-Brown (163rd – 28:38.1) and Kenny Connelly held down the seventh spot at 218th in 30:38.6.

The team champion was Calvin College who finished with 61 points.  Ohio Northern's Ian McVey was the individual champion, setting the pace in 25:11.0.
