CLEVELAND, Ohio – Senior Ben Foster was recognized as the North Coast Athletic Conference Runner of the Week for the fourth time in his career on Monday following a gold medal performance this past weekend at Carnegie Mellon. This also marks the second NCAC weekly honor for Foster this season after last receiving the award on Sept. 16.
Leading the Big Red to a second-place finish at the 2019 Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday, Foster headlined the DU performances after breaking the tape and placing first overall with a final time of 26:07.26 to lead the field of 110 runners. This was the third individual championship of the season for Foster after he won the Wooster Dual Meet on Sept. 5 and the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational on Sept. 14.
Competing in all five competitions for Denison this season, Foster has placed in the top-15 in each of the five races, including four finishes in the top-five.
Foster and the Big Red will hit the road this Saturday, Oct. 19 when they travel to Logan Township, N.J. to compete in the Inter-Regional Border Battle hosted by Rowan University.
