CLEVELAND, Ohio – For the second time this season and fourth time during her DU career, senior Sarah Herold was honored by the North Coast Athletic Conference as their Pitcher of the Week following a pair of victories in the circle over Kenyon and Oberlin.
In a week where Herold allowed only one earned run over 19 innings of work, Herold grabbed her first win of the week on Thursday, April 5 when she totaled eight strikeouts during a 7-1 victory over Kenyon College. On Saturday, Herold added her second-straight win at Oberlin College where she tallied nine strikeouts in a 12-0 win.
Despite the 1-0 loss on Sunday to Thomas More, Herold was still dominant, racking up her third straight game of eight or more strikeouts. The Orland Park, Ill. native finished the week with a 0.37 ERA, 25 strikeouts and limited opposing batters to a .164 batting average.
The Big Red are currently 11-5 overall and will welcome Wittenberg University to Granville on Tuesday, April 10 for a doubleheader set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
