CLEVELAND, Ohio – For the third time this season and the fifth time for her career, senior Sarah Herold has been named the Pitcher of the Week by the North Coast Athletic Conference.
After earning the last week's honor with 25 strikeouts and a 0.37 ERA, Herold added to that performance with a 2-0 record on the week, including 16 strikeouts and a 1.24 ERA in three starts. Herold earned one of her two victories against Wooster on Friday, April 13, allowing one run over seven innings of work and recording five strikeouts. She also earned the win against Wittenberg on Tuesday as she tallied nine strikeouts in the 6-4 victory.
On the season, Herold boasts a record of 7-3 in the circle with an NCAC-leading 73 strikeouts and 2.11 ERA.
The Big Red will return to action on Thursday, April 19 as they travel to Defiance College for a doubleheader set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
