Three named to NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete team

GRANVILLE, Ohio--  Three members of the Denison softball team were named to the 2018-19 Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete team for Division III.  Denison's winners were Lindsey Clemson, Gabi Dufresne, and Angel Ehrenschwender.

A grade point average of 3.50 or higher is required to be named to the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete team.  Division III led all divisions of the NCAA with 1,928 student-athletes on the All-America Scholar-Athlete team.

Clemson is a three-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection and a three-year starter at catcher for the Big Red.  She batted .360 in 2019 with 31 RBI and 15 doubles.

Dufresne played in 19 games and batted .255 with four RBI and nine runs scored in her second season with the Big Red.  Ehrenschwender played in eight games in 2019, predominantly as a designated player.  All three players were also named to the NCAC Academic Honor Roll in 2019.

The Big Red finished 2019 with a 22-14 overall record and an 11-5 mark in conference play, eventually falling in the championship of the NCAC Tournament.  The season also marked the 12th straight season of 20 or more wins under head coach Tiffany Ozbun.
