GRANVILLE, Ohio-- The Big Red women's basketball team will enter the 2018 North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament as the No. 6 seed and will travel to No. 3 Oberlin on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m.
Denison (12-13, 7-9 NCAC) completed the regular season on Wednesday with 72-55 win over Hiram and has won four of its last five games. The only loss came to seventh-ranked DePauw, on the road in Greencastle, Indiana.
Oberlin (18-7, 13-3 NCAC) is 2-0 against Denison in 2017-18. On Dec. 6, the Yeowomen prevailed 62-56 behind 16 points from Olivia Canning. On January 20 in Granville, Denison held a one-point lead entering the fourth quarter, but Oberlin stormed back to pull out the 62-53 win. Lauren Hofer paced Denison with 13 points and six rebounds.
Over the last four seasons, Denison is 6-4 in the NCAC Tournament, making two appearances in the championship game. The Big Red has not faced Oberlin in the NCAC Tournament since 2009 when DU rolled to a 99-47 win over the Yeomen in the quarterfinal round.
Tickets will be $7 for adults and $5 for children (18 and under), NCAC Guest Pass holders or students without an NCAC institution ID. Students with an ID from an NCAC institution will be admitted free of charge.
