HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Denison women's golf finished in second place overall this weekend at the rain-shortened Bridgewater Fall Invitational hosted at the Lakeview Golf Club in Harrisonburg, Va. Following the cancellation of Sunday's final round due to weather, the Big Red posted a team score of 322 to finish the tournament two strokes behind team champion Christopher Newport University (320) and two strokes ahead of third place Stevenson University (324).

Placing four golfers in the top 20 for the weekend, the Big Red were led by junior Emmy Timberlake who posted a six-over par 78 during the first round to finish in a three-way tie for third place with Julia Kline of Stevenson and CNU's Sherya Ganta. Freshman Sophia Alexander finished just one stroke back of Timberlake with a first round score of 79 as she ended the tournament in a tie for sixth place.

Fellow freshman Megan Munn went for 10-over par on the first day with an 82 and a tie for 12th place. Sophomore Megan Wong followed with an 83 as she ended the weekend tied for 17th place.

Rounding out the DU competitors was sophomore Olivia Cowley who finished the invite in a tie for 35th after logging an 89 through the first round.

The Big Red will take the next week off before returning to their home state on October 6-7 for Wittenberg's Pat Close Invitational hosted at the Springfield Country Club.
