LEXINGTON, Ky. - Denison women's golf improved by 13 strokes from Sunday's first round to place third overall on Monday at the 2019 Transylvania Spring Invitational held at the Greenbrier Country Club in Lexington, Ky. Totalling a two-day score of 671, the Big Red followed Transylvania in second place (642) and the team champion in the University of Pikeville with a score of 636.
Garnering a pair of top-10 finishers, Denison was led by junior Emmy Timberlake who placed fifth overall after shooting a second-round 76 to finish the weekend at 156. Sophomore Megan Wong improved by six strokes on the second day to follow Timberlake in sixth place with a total score of 160. Her second-round 77 matched a season-low for Wong.
Freshman Megan Munn dropped her first-round score by nine strokes on day two to finish 18th overall with a total score of 173. Lauren Danielson landed in 22nd with a 182 and Olivia Cowley trailed by 10 strokes in 27th place at 192.
Denison will return to play on Saturday, April 13 when they take part in the Wooster Spring Invitational hosted at the Mohican Hills Golf Course in Jeromesville, Ohio.
