CLEVELAND, Ohio – Junior Emmy Timberlake was named the North Coast Athletic Conference's Player of the Week for the third time this season after leading Denison to the team championship at the Wooster Spring Invitational on Sunday in Jeromesville, Ohio. This is also the fourth Player of the Week honor of Timberlake's career.
Helping Denison secure their second team title since March 20, Timberlake highlighted the Big Red performances on Sunday with a two-over-par 74 to lead the 95-player field and to secure the individual championship for the second-straight season. Winning last year's weather-shortened Wooster Spring Invite after the first day, Timberlake posted a two-round score of 152 (+8) this past weekend to finish four strokes better than Wooster's Tongtong Wu in second place (156).
In 14 rounds this season, the Charlottesville, Va. native has collected four finishes in the top-five and the three lowest rounds on the team, including a career-low 72 at the Pat Clouse Invitational on Oct. 7, 2018, in Springfield.
Timberlake and the Big Red will return to action in two weeks on Sunday, April 28 when they return to the College of Wooster to take part in a dual match play with the Fighting Scots at the Wooster Country Club.
