CLEVELAND, Ohio – Senior Emmy Timberlake was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the fifth time in her career on Monday following a record-setting performance this past weekend at the Ohio Wesleyan Fall Invitational.
Leading the Big Red to a new program-best two-day total of 593, Timberlake helped DU capture their first team title of the season with a weekend score of 145 that placed her first overall in the 46-player field. Timberlake fired an even-par 72 on Saturday and followed that up with a 73 on Sunday. Her two-day total of 145 broke the program's 36-hole scoring record of 148 held by Brynn FitzGerald.
This marks Timberlake's second-straight top-five finish to the start the 2019-20 season after placing fourth overall at the Lynn Schweizer Invitational on Sept. 1.
The Big Red will take this week off before returning next Saturday, Sept. 21 when they travel to Danville, Ind. to compete in the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic.
