Women's Lacrosse ranked #24 preseason poll

Denison women's lacrosse is ranked 24th in Division III

GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced its Division III preseason top-25 poll on Monday and Denison was ranked 24th. The Big Red is the only North Coast Athletic Conference team ranked in the top 25.

Denison has advanced to four-straight NCAA Division III Tournaments and is the defending NCAC Champion.  Last year, the Big Red went 15-4 powered by an 11-game winning streak that spanned March 28 through May 14. Denison returns three of last year's top five goal scorers in Kiely Noonan (48 goals), Claudia Rafi (38 goals), and Leah Israel (31 goals) along with three of the top-five leaders in assists in Rafi (13 assists), Maddy Heher (12 assists) and Israel (11 assists).

Denison opens the season on Feb. 25 when they travel to Fredonia, N.Y. for a 1 p.m. start against the Blue Devils.  The home opener is March 1 when Denison hosts Redlands at 4 p.m.
