GRANVILLE, Ohio-- The Denison women's lacrosse team has landed a spot in the 2019 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) preseason Division III Coaches Poll.  After a record-breaking 2018 campaign that saw the Big Red go 17-3 and advance to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament, Denison is ranked 25th in the inaugural poll.

For the fifth-straight season, Denison was the champion of the NCAC Tournament, defeating Wooster in the title game, 17-10. The Big Red took a 16-2 record into the NCAA Division III Tournament, where they toppled Calvin in the second round before falling to Salisbury in the Sweet 16. The Big Red carries a 29-game North Coast Athletic Conference winning streak into the 2019 season.

All-American defender Jane Goodspeed returns for her senior season, along with the Big Red's leading scorer Kiely Noonan, who recorded 74 goals last season. The 2019 women's lacrosse season begins on February 23, with a home game against Brockport at 12 p.m.
