GETTYSBURG, Pa.--  Denison struck first but No. 1 Gettysburg followed with six unanswered goals in the first half, sending the Bullets on their way to a 14-4 victory over the Big Red from Clark Field.

Denison's Hope Adams scored two minutes into the contest but Gettysburg's Courtney Patterson tied the game five minutes into the game off a pass from Steph Colson.  Over the next 10 minutes, Gettysburg pumped in five more goals to take a 6-1 lead.

With 9:15 left in the first half, Denison's Leander Perun scored off an assist by Virginia Hamilton to make it a 6-2 game. The Bullets added two more goals over the final seven minutes of the first half to take a 10-2 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Colson scored two more to open a 10-goal advantage.  Denison's Adams followed with her second goal of the contest off a pass from Kiely Noonan.  Gettysburg answered with three goals in a five-minute span to put the game away.

Adams led Denison with two goals on three shots.  Charlotte Godfrey had five ground balls and Casey McTague finished with four ground balls and two caused turnovers.  Jane Goodspeed led the defense with three caused turnovers, three draw controls, and four ground balls.

Colson paced Gettysburg with four goals and one assist.  Patterson and Kerry McKeever each tallied hat tricks.

Hannah Magarian had six saves in 60 minutes in goal for Denison.  Gettysburg's Bailey Pilder finished with six saves for the Bullets.  Gettysburg held a 25-15 advantage in shots, but Denison won the ground ball battle, 25-17.

Denison returns to action on Thursday (March 7) when they host Rhodes at 4:30 p.m. at Piper Stadium.
