ENGLEWOOD, Fla.--  Liza Farnham scored the game-winning goal 56 seconds into the first overtime period to lead Denison to a 16-15 win over No. 23 Rowan at the Spring Fling in Englewood, Florida.  Denison returns to Ohio with a 4-3 record after facing three nationally ranked teams to open the season.

Denison led 15-13 with under five minutes to play, but Liz Kramer's goal with 4:08 made it a one-goal contest.  It looked as if the Big Red were going to hold on for the 15-14 win in regulation but a foul on Denison at the buzzer gave Rowan's Jess Havers a free-position attempt with one second on the clock.  Havers converted the pressure-packed eight-meter shot to force overtime.

In OT, Rowan controlled the opening draw but quickly turned it over allowing Denison to clear the ball into their offensive third.  That's when Farnham took the ball and sent DU fans home with smiles on their faces.

Kiely Noonan led Denison with four goals and two assists on four shot attempts.  Hope Adams notched a hat trick and Molly Fisher added two goals and three assists.  Casey McTague tallied a pair of goals and one assist while Jane Goodspeed led the squad with three draw controls.

Hannah Magarian posted 15 saves while facing 30 shot attempts from the Profs.  Rowan outshot the Big Red 35-19 but DU was efficient, scoring on 84 percent of their shots.

The Big Red will take some time off before opening North Coast Athletic Conference play against Ohio Wesleyan on Sunday (March 31) at 3 p.m.
