GRANVILLE, Ohio-- Denison senior Jane Goodspeed was named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-American second-team on Monday, June 10. This is the second All-American honor of Goodspeed's career. She was a third-team All-American in 2018.
A four-time first-team All-Region selection, Goodspeed led the 22nd ranked Denison Big Red in draw controls (169), caused turnovers (52) and ground balls (77). She leaves as the program's all-time leader in draw controls and caused turnovers. She also holds single-season and single-game records in both categories.
Goodspeed was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the year in 2018 and 2019. She is a four-time first-team All-NCAC selection and was named the Most Valuable Player in this year's NCAC Tournament.
A Denison President's Medal recipient in 2019, Goodspeed was also named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District team in 2018. She is a three-time honoree at the Denison Athletics Top-50 Student-Athlete Celebration.
In four seasons as a starter on defense, Denison won four NCAC championships and four NCAC Tournament championships. While posting an overall record of 61-18 with a perfect 32-0 record in conference play.
Goodspeed is the sixth multi-time All-American in program history. Since 1987, Denison has landed 29 All-Americans.
