GRANVILLE, Ohio--  Denison's Meg Wozniak scored on a corner kick from Grace Murray in the 17th minute to lead the Big Red to a 1-0 win over Hiram on Tuesday at Piper Stadium.

With the win, Denison controls its own destiny for the upcoming North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament.  A win over Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday will clinch a berth in the conference tournament.  A tie or a loss to the Battling Bishops would signal the end of the season for DU.

Against the Terriers, Denison dominated possession and was knocking on the door throughout the match.  In the first half, DU took 16 shots, placing four on-goal.  The lone goal came about on Denison's third corner kick of the match.  Murray served the ball to the head of Wozniak who converted for her third goal of the season.

In the second half, Denison's Kate Dannemiller took a free kick from 35-yards and laced it.  It took a jumping one-handed save from Hiram goalkeeper Ally Green to keep it a 1-0 match.

Despite the tight score, Hiram never threatened offensively as Denison outshot the Terriers, 28-0.  Corner kicks were equally one-sided as the Big Red won that battle, 14-1.

Wozniak led Denison with eight shots while Murray followed with six and Maggie Armstrong chipped in five.  Green posted eight saves for the Terriers.

Denison improves to 7-5-4 and 3-2-2 in the NCAC while Hiram drops to 3-12-1 and 1-6 in conference play.  The Big Red will host Ohio Wesleyan in the regular season finale on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 1:30 p.m.
