Kansas City, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches named three Denison women's soccer players to the 2018 NCAA Division III All-Great Lakes Region team on Monday, headlined by senior Maggie Armstrong as a first-team selection.

Also named to the All-NCAC first-team and as the NCAC's Midfielder of the Year in 2018, Armstrong rounded out her DU career with a senior season of nine goals and a career-high six assists, turning in 1.41 points per game for the Big Red. Named to the All-Great Lakes Region team in each of her four seasons at Denison, the Wilmette, Ill. native finished her time in Granville with 28 career goals and 13 assists in 75 total matches played.

Assisting Armstrong on the offensive end was freshman Liz Gilbert who was named second-team all-region after collecting six goals and four assists as a first-year. Also named to the All-NCAC first-team in 2018, Gilbert's freshman season was headlined by a five-point performance on two goals and one assist in a 7-1 win over Otterbein on Sept. 5.

Joining Gilbert on the second-team was sophomore Kelly O'Neill who led a Big Red defense that posted an overall goals-against average of 0.62 this season while tallying nine shutouts. Also named the All-NCAC second-team in 2018, the Torrance, Calif. native connected on four goals and one assist this season, including back-to-back goals in wins over Otterbein (Sept. 5) and Buffalo State (Sept. 8). O'Neill was also named to the All-Great Lakes Region third-team in 2017.

Finishing the 2018 campaign at 12-3-2 overall, the Big Red secured their 10th North Coast Athletic Conference regular season championship after going undefeated in conference play at 6-0-2 to earn the top seed in the NCAC Tournament.
