CLEVELAND, Ohio – Denison women's soccer was recognized by the North Coast Athletic Conference on Monday afternoon following the announcement of sophomore Abby King as the NCAC Player of the Week. This marks King's first conference honor for her career.

Helping the Big Red post a pair of 2-0 victories over Capital and Ohio Wesleyan this past week, King finished the week with five points on two goals and an assist. She recorded DU's first goal against the Crusaders when she capitalized off a pass from Claire Kolff in the 24th minute of play. In the opening minutes of the second half, King returned the favor to Kolff when she sent a pass to the senior and tallied Denison's second goal of the game.

King also added a goal against OWU when she connected on a pass from Leland Keller in the 27th minute to extend the Big Red lead to 2-0. A native of Grosse Ile, Mich., King currently leads the team with four goals and nine points on the season.

King & Co. will look to secure their third-straight victory on Saturday, Oct. 5 when they travel to Meadville, Pa. for a 12 p.m. kick-off with Allegheny College.
