KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Seniors Lauren Hawley and Emma Alsup closed out their Denison careers on Saturday afternoon following a 6-2, 7-5 loss to Middlebury's Heather Boehm and Ann Martin Skelly in the quarterfinals of the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Doubles Championship hosted at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Mich. Hawley and Alsup ended their senior season with an overall record of 22-8 and 16-5 in DU's top flight while obtaining All-American status with their trip to the Elite Eight.

Following a 6-2 loss in the first set, the senior tandem rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the second set to tie it at 3-3. Hawley and Alsup also secured the next game to take a 4-3 lead, but Boehm and Skelly tallied a 3-0 scoring run to end the set and the match. The win sent Boehm and Skelly to Sunday's semifinal round where their opponent is to be determined.

Hawley and Alsup finished their time in Granville with three-straight NCAC Doubles Team of the Year awards while also qualifying the nationals twice as a team.

The Big Red finished the season at 13-9 overall and made their second-straight appearance in the NCAC Championship match.
