Denison closed out the 2011 North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field championship with a seventh-place finish. Ohio Wesleyan won the team title with 228 points while Allegheny took second with 125 points.
On Saturday the Big Red was led by senior Ashley Putnam (North East, Pa./North East) who took third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:22.65. Denison's distance medley relay team comprised of Ani Mutafova (Canton, Ohio/Jackson), Ellen Fugate (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington), Beth Armitage (Vienna, Va./James Madison) and Julie Rotramel (Lexington, Ky./Lafayette) also placed third in 13:05.92 to earn All-NCAC honors.
In the high jump, Christa Meyers (Portage, Ind./Hathaway Brown [Ohio]) took sixth, clearing 4'9.75" and Kirby Mosenthal (Briarcliff, N.Y./Irvington) placed seventh in the mile with a time of 5:31.37. The 4x400 relay foursome of Mutafova, Laura Wolgamott (Loudonville, Ohio/Loudonville), Putnam and Armitage placed fifth in 4:18.79, and the 4x200 relay team of Alesha Stewart (Houma, La./La. School for Math, Science and Art), Rose Schrott (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon), Claire Navarro (Seal Beach, Calif./Los Alamitos) and Tiffany Davis (Madison, Tenn./Pope John Paul II) placed seventh in 1:52.82.
