The Denison women turned in a fourth place finish at the Wooster Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The five-team field saw Denison total 76.50 points. DU was just 10.5 points behind third-place Wittenberg. The team title went to Wooster with 198 points.
Denison was led in the sprint events by sophomore Tiffany Davis, and in the field events by senior Katherine Sylvia. Davis posted a time of 26.24 to win the 200 meter dash. She also posted a victory in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.01, winning by 27 hundredths of a second.
In the shot put, Sylvia won with a throw of 32'3." She returned in the weight throw with a distance of 25'4" to place sixth overall. Also placing for the Big Red in the shot put was Laruen Marino who took eighth with a length of 26'0.75".
Senior Ani Mutafova placed third in the 800 meters in 2:26.31. She was also a part of Denison's pair of third-place relay finishes.
Also earning points for the Big Red was Ashlee Dickson who cleared 8-feet in the pole vault and finished sixth overall.
Denison will be back in action next Friday at the Ohio Wesleyan Open.
