Denison senior Emily Lamm and sophomore Arlesha Cospy were named North Coast Athletic Conference Distance and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for their performances at last weekend's Denison Lid-Lifter.
Lamm was responsible for one of the Big Red's nine event titles after winning the 3,000-meter run. The senior's time of 10:31.26 is the fastest by an NCAC runner so far this season. It also moved Lamm into fifth place on the school's top performer's list.
Cospy posted a pair of top-2 performances in the throwing events last Saturday. The sophomore won the shot put with a toss of 36'5.50" before setting a new school record in the weight throw with a mark of 41'2.25". Cospy's performance in the weight throw landed her in second place overall. She currently ranks fourth in the shot put and eighth in the weight throw in the NCAC.
The Big Red returns to action on Saturday when they travel to the Fighting Scots Invitational hosted by the College of Wooster. Events are scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
