Denison finished in a tie for fourth place at the Bob Shannon Invitational on their home track inside Mitchell Fieldhouse. The Big Red totaled 62 points, tying them for fourth with Kenyon College. Baldwin Wallace was the team champion with 134.5 points while Ohio Wesleyan finished second with 99 points. Carnegie Mellon took third with 89 points.
DU would place four runners in the top-9 in the mile as Emily Grabauskas won the race with a time of 5:24.79. That finish ranks eighth on the school's top-10 indoor performances list. Anna Fash would finish fifth in 5:38.31 while Alyssa Bahel took sixth in 5:28.35.
Jessica Nix competed in the 55-meter hurdles and the high jump. She took fifth in the 55 hurdles in 9.65 seconds and finished 10th in the high jump, clearing 4'5". DU's leader in the high jump was Grace Zukowski who placed eighth by clearing 4'7".
Arlesha Cospy placed second in the shot put and qualified for next weekend's All-Ohio Championship meet with a throw of 39'10.75" and Anne Lee would finish fourth in the long jump with a distance of 15'8.75".
The 4x400 relay team of Diaz, Rose, Osterhout and Grabauskas placed third with a time of 4:24.97.
Denison will be back in action next Saturday at the All-Ohio Championship hosted by Otterbein University.
