DU finishes 8th at NCAC Championship

GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- The Big Red women's track & field team placed eighth at the 2017 North Coast Athletic Conference Outdoor Championship held on the campus of DePauw University.

Juniors Arlesha Cospy and Hannah Hall paced Denison on Saturday with a pair of third-place finishes. Cospy earned all-conference honors with a final mark of 140'2", while Hall also made the All-NCAC squad after successfully clearing 5'4.25". Senior Anne Lee took fourth in the triple jump with a personal-record performance. Lee's combined leap of 35'7.75" bested her previous PR by six and a half inches.

The 4x100 relay team of Bren'et Muldrow, Mackenzie Mason, Lee and Sydney Chandler opened the running events with a sixth-place showing. The foursome turned in a time of 52.82. Chandler and Muldrow also scored individually later in the meet. Chandler was seventh in the 400 hurdles after crossing the line in 1:10.65, while Muldrow's time of 1:01.90 earned her eighth place in the 400-meter dash.

Junior Emily Grabauskas was seventh in the 1500-meter run after checking in at 4:59.67, while the 4x400 grouping of Chandler, Sydney Lerda, Shelby Jude and Grabauskas closed out the meet with a seventh-place finish. The collection of runners finished the race in 4:23.24.

Oberlin captured the team title with 260 points followed by Ohio Wesleyan with 185.5 tallies. Allegheny was third with 95 followed by Wooster (79) and Wittenberg (65.5) in fourth and fifth, respectively. Kenyon (52), DePauw (42) and Denison (40) rounded out the team standings.
