Denison women's track and field competed at multiple locations on Saturday afternoon, fielding athletes at the Washington & Lee Carnival in Lexington, Va. and at Muskingum University's Muskies Duals in New Concord, Ohio.

At Muskingum, the Big Red throwers combined for six new personal records, led by sophomore Anna Vrancken who landed three finishes in the top five. In the hammer throw, Vrancken recorded a new personal best on a throw of 130'10" (39.89 meters) to finish second overall. She was followed by Abby Reppert in sixth place on a PR toss of 121'6" (37.04 meters) and Becca Skolnick, who tallied a new career-long of 85'11" (26.20 meters) to finish in 12th.

In the discus, freshman Ashley Schmoll placed second overall and entered DU's top 10 list of personal records when she reached 115'10" (35.32 meters). Vrancken finished fourth overall with a 112'9" (34.37 meters), while Skolnick followed in 12th (98'1") and Reppert in 19th (86'5").

Vrancken's final top five came in the shot put where she placed fifth overall on a mark of 33'6.50" (10.22 meters). Schmoll finished less than two feet behind Vrancken in seventh place at 31'9.25" (9.68 meters).

At Washington & Lee, Leah Ackerman placed 11th overall in the shot put event where logged a maximum throw of 9.98 meters. In the triple jump, Danni Gutelius finished 19th overall following a mark of 9.32 meters.

The Big Red return to action on Friday, March 29 when they travel to Birmingham, Ala. to compete in the Hilltop Classic hosted by Birmingham Southern College.
