GRANVILLE, Ohio-- Denison sophomore Anna Vrancken was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week after her performance at the Muskie Duals last weekend at Muskingum University.
Vrancken recorded a new personal best in the hammer throw with a distance of 39.89 meters to place second, overall. She also finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 34.37 meters and was fifth in the shot put at 10.22 meters. Her hammer throw and discus marks are the best among all conference athletes so far this season.
A native of Galena, Ohio, this marks the first NCAC Athlete of the Week award for Vrancken. The Big Red returns to action on March 29-30 at the Hilltop Classic in Birmingham, Alabama.
