DELAWARE, Ohio – Denison women's track & field placed 16th overall at the 2019 All-Ohio Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted at Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday in Delaware.

Earning nine finishes in the top-15 on the day, the Big Red received a record-breaking showing from senior Mackenzie Mason in the pole vault. Reaching a new personal-best height of 10'6" (3.20 meters) to place 13th overall, Mason matched a program record to tie with Emily Hammeran (2009) and Allison Pineault (2015).

The Big Red also set a new PR in the javelin thrown when freshman Ashley Schmoll placed eighth overall on a new career mark of 106'1" (32.35 meters). Fellow freshman Marija Pavlick led DU in third place on a launch of 119'5" (36.40 meters), while Becca Skolnick landed in 16th at 90'2" (27.49 meters).

Schmoll also competed in the shot put where she placed 30th overall at 33'0.25" (10.06 meters). Leah Ackerman led the group in 20th (35'1") and Anna Vrancken followed in 23rd (34'8.50").

In the hammer throw, Vrancken placed 15th overall at 134'2" (40.91 meters) and Ackerman landed in 23rd on a throw of 119' (36.27 meters). Vrancken then placed 13th in the discus event at 112'10" (34.40 meters). Schmoll trailed in 14th (111'10") and Skolnick took 18th (107'7").

Danni Gutelius rounded out the field events for Denison in the high jump where she placed 11th at 4'11" (1.50 meters) and Isabella Luaces placed 19th in the long jump (13'9").

On the track, the Big Red added three more personal records to the list, headlined by a 10th place finish from Molly Smith in the 800-meter run when she crossed the finish line at 2:22.08.

In the 5,000-meter run, Emily Willson placed 18th overall when she set a new personal record at 18:52.09. Tommy Solberg finished the event in 24th place on a new PR of 19:26.08.

Freshman Meagan Balch added another top-10 for DU in the 10,000-meter run when she placed seventh overall on a time of 41:51.75.

The Big Red will return to action next Saturday, April 20 when they travel to Gambier, Ohio to compete in the Kenyon Spring Invitational.
