Throws trio leads the way at Gregory Invite

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Denison women's track & field posted a trio of top-10 finishes on the first day of action at the 2019 Gregory Invitational hosted at North Central College's Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium in Naperville, Ill.

Opening the meet with the hammer throw, the Big Red were led by Anna Vrancken who placed 12th overall on a final mark of 139'2" (42.42 meters). Sophomore Abby Reppert followed with a new personal best distance of 124'7" (37.97 meters) to finish in 17th place.

In the discus, freshman Ashley Schmoll highlighted the DU competitors in fifth place with a throw of 118'1" (36.01 meters). Vrancken took sixth place at 111'2" (33.89 meters) and Reppert placed eighth overall on a mark of 103'2" (31.45 meters).

The Big Red will return to Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium on Thursday for the final day of competition at the Gregory Invitational.
