GRANVILLE, Ohio – Denison volleyball suffered their first home loss of the season on Tuesday night, falling to Heidelberg University 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-22) at Livingston Gymnasium.
The Big Red were led by Leah Reinfranck and Emma Woerner who finished with 10 kills each. Julia Miller added 28 assists and Kristin Thewes totaled 12 digs. For the Student Princes, junior Morgan Strenk led the contest with 14 kills and a .481 hitting percentage.
Denison opened the third set with an 18-13 lead thanks to five kills by Woerner, but three kills from Strenk helped Heidelberg finish the night with a 25-22 victory.
The Big Red will return to action this Saturday, Sept. 23 as they travel to Greencastle, Indiana for their North Coast Athletic Conference opener with DePauw University. The match is set to start at 1 p.m.
