GRANVILLE, Ohio – After dropping their first set 25-21, Denison volleyball rallied to sweep the next three sets as they defeated Oberlin College 3-1 (21-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-17) on Tuesday evening at Livingston Gymnasium.
In their final home match of the regular season, the Big Red committed seven attacking errors in the first set as the Yeowomen countered with kills from Dana Thomas and Lexi Mitchell to take the first set, 25-21.
Oberlin opened the second set with an early 3-1 lead, but DU totaled a 16-5 scoring run thanks to multiple kills from junior Isabella Pivec and two blocks from Leah Reinfranck to win the set and tie the match at one set each.
The Big Red were led by Aucamp's 11 kills and eight blocks from Reinfranck. Reinfranck is currently fifth on the all-time blocks list at Denison with 243, and is currently only 14 blocks away from passing Kelsey Bruce (2004-2007) for fourth all-time.
