NEW CONCORD, Ohio--  Denison volleyball closed out its regular season slate with a 3-0 victory over John Carroll and a 3-1 loss to Muskingum on Saturday afternoon.  Both contests took place at Muskingum University.

DU opened the day with a convincing 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-14) win over the Blue Streaks to improve to 14-12 on the season.  In the win, senior Leah Reinfranck became the seventh player in program history to surpass the 1,000 career kill milestone.  Reinfranck posted eight kills and committed only two errors for a .375 attack percentage. She also added seven digs and four service aces.  Joining Reinfranck with eight kills was first-year Emma Woerner who also chipped in six digs.

Isabella Pivec led DU with a .412 hitting percentage and tied Reinfranck and Woerner with eight kills. Kaileigh Poe posted 12 digs and Julia Miller led the setters with 18 assists.

For John Carroll, Sarah Calabrese led the way with six kills and Kayla Musso led all players with 25 digs.

Against Muskingum, the Big Red dropped the first set, 25-20 but rallied for a 25-23 win in the second.  Sets three and four went to the Muskies, 25-22 and 25-14.

Woerner paced the DU offense with 13 kills and 18 digs in the nightcap.  Alex Tubbs chipped in 12 kills and Kasper posted 11 kills and 14 digs.  Kristin Thewes led Denison with 28 digs and Miller posted 10 assists. Reinfranck posted three blocks in the effort, moving her to fourth all-time on the career blocks list at Denison with 258.

Muskingum (20-5) was led by Chloe Bradewie who posted 17 kills.  Courtney Nestoff led all players with 32 digs and Taylour Fatheree posted five blocks.

Up next for Denison is the 2017 North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament in Springfield, Ohio.  The Big Red is the No. 4 seed in the tournament and will face the winner of the Kenyon-Oberlin first-round matchup on Friday, Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m.  The two-day tournament will be hosted by top-seeded Wittenberg University.
