MEADVILLE, Pa.-- Denison picked up its second North Coast Athletic Conference victory of the season on Saturday after a 3-0 (25-20, 25-14, 25-16) over Allegheny at the David V. Wise Center.
The Big Red got 12 kills apiece from senior Isabella Pivec and sophomore Kaila Kasper. The 12 kills for Pivec matched a season-high and the senior was efficient, hitting .478 while committing just one error. Kasper hit .321 with 12 kills on 28 attacks in addition to 10 digs.
Four players reached double figures in digs, led by Payton McElfresh with 15. She also added eight kills and three service aces. Marija Pavlick posted 13 digs while Julia Miller added 12 digs and 31 assists.
Allegheny was led by Grace Lengauer's 11 kills. Rachel Slotterback had 20 digs for the Gators who were plagued by 20 attack errors that resulted in a .075 hitting percentage.
Denison's .276 hitting percentage was the best of the season and their best since hitting .331 on Oct. 21 in a 3-1 victory over Haverford.
The Big Red (7-11, 2-4 NCAC) will travel to Oberlin, Ohio on Tuesday (Oct. 16) to face the Yeowomen at 7 p.m. Next weekend they will play four matches at a tournament in Michigan that is being co-hosted by Olivet and Albion.
