Women’s XC places 18th at Rumble

OBERLIN, Ohio – Denison women's cross country finished 18th overall on Saturday afternoon in the 6k Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College.

Of the 29 competing teams, the Big Red were paced by freshman Tommy Solberg who ended the race in 47th place out of 240 competitors with a time of 23:37.4. Emily Grabauskas joined Solberg in the top-100, placing 100th with a time of 24:33.7. Sophomore Emma Riordan finished just four seconds behind Grabauskas in 106th place with a time of 24:37.7.

Isabelle Cannon and Phoebe Osterhout closed out the scoring for the Big Red as Cannon finished in 133rd place with 25:16.7 and Osterhout's 26:01.9 landed her 164th overall. Freshman Sarah Radziewicz ended the day for DU with a time of 27:05.8.

The host, Oberlin Yeowomen, kept the first-place trophy at home with a team score of 72. John Carroll University (120) and Kenyon College (123) rounded out the top three. Oberlin also took home the top individual honor as junior Linnea Halsten finished first overall with a 21:05.3.

Denison will return to Oberlin College in two weeks for the North Coast Athletic Conference cross country championships on Saturday, Oct. 28.
