Denison women take sixth at NCAC Championship

OBERLIN, Ohio--  Denison University women's cross country placed sixth at the 2017 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship at Oberlin College.  The Big Red posted a team total of 186 to finish in front of the College of Wooster (203) and Wittenberg (230).  Allegheny College captured the team championship with 31 points after four, top-10 finishes. 

Denison was led by senior Emily Grabauskas who finished the race in 23:35.2 to place 31st overall.  First-year Tommy Solberg checked in 34th after crossing the finish line in 23:41.5.  Sophomore Emma Riordan was third for DU in 24:15.1 and Sarah Radziewicz took fourth in 24:36.8.  Overall, Riordan placed 47th and Radziewicz finished 56th.

Denison's fifth, sixth and seventh place finishers were Sara Lichtenberg (62nd – 25:06.6), Isabelle Cannon (66th – 25:27.1) and Erin O'Connor (81st – 27:20.2).

The individual champion was Linnea Halsten of Oberlin College who finished in 21:23.3.

The Big Red will close out its season on Nov. 11 at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional in Delaware, Ohio.
