DU women take second at Wooster Dual

WOOSTER, Ohio – Denison women's cross country was led by four finishers in the top-10, but the Big Red finished in second place to the College of Wooster Fighting Scots on Thursday evening at the LC Boles Golf Course 5k race in Wooster, Ohio.

Taking part in the annual inter-conference dual between the two schools, freshman Emily Willson paced DU with a fourth-place finish out of 29 competitors and a 5k time of 21:03.5. Fellow freshman Meagan Balch followed in fifth place after clocking in at 21:10.7.

Denison's remaining top-10 belonged to Erin O'Connor in seventh place with a time of 21:44.7 and sophomore Tommy Solberg in 10th at 22:17.8.

The Big Red runners were rounded out by Sarah Radziewicz in 13th place (23:05) and freshman Stefanie Rodrigues finishing 28th overall (28:58.4).

Wooster's Isabelle Hoover finished with the race's top time, placing first overall with a 20:42.5.

Denison will take the weekend off before returning next Saturday, September 29 at the All-Ohio Championship hosted at the Silver Creek Metro Park in Norton, Ohio.
