Women's XC places third at Ohio Wesleyan

POWELL, Ohio— Denison women's cross country placed third out of a field of nine teams at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday at Liberty Park.  The Big Red finished with a team total of 117, edging Wilmington by one point for third place.  Second place went to Ohio Northern while Kenyon left as the team champions thanks to placing four in the top-six, overall.

Denison's top finisher was sophomore Emily Willson who covered the 6K course in 24:19.7.  Sarah Radziewicz was right behind Wilson in 15th place in 24.30.5.

First-year Carolyn Trent finished 26th after crossing the finish line in 25:14.9.  Another newcomer, Alieen Schretzmayer took 35th (25:39.6) and Merritt Newton closed out the top-five for Denison with a time of 26:04.8.

Other participants for DU included Allie Holmes (26:11.4), Mallory Tedor (26:13.7), Roberta Fisher (27:15.3), Anna Lindower (27:17.1), and Leona Murray (29:13.8).

Denison's next meet will take place on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the All-Ohio Championship hosted by Cedarville University.
