Women's Cross Country competes in New Jersey

LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J.—Denison women's cross country placed 20th out of 27 teams at the Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle from Dream Park.  The Big Red finished with a score of 488 and was led by Erin O'Connor who placed 82nd out of 224 runners with a time of 23:36.1. Saturday's competition included 10 regionally ranked teams from six different regions, including five nationally-ranked squads and the No. 1 team in the nation, Johns Hopkins University.

Following O'Connor for Denison was junior Sarah Radziewicz who clocked in at 23:49.2 to finish 91stEmily Willson was four spots behind Radziewicz as she crossed the finish line in 23:56.3.

Rounding out the top finishers for the Big Red was Carolyn Trent (102nd – 24:01.3), Sydney Lerda (149th – 24:44.8), Meagan Balch (152nd – 24:51.1), and Aileen Schretzmayer (173rd – 25:28.7).

Johns Hopkins won the event with a team score of 26 thanks to placing five runners in the top-eight.  The individual champion was SUNY-Geneseo's Genny Corcoran who broke the tape in 20:24.9 which was good for a 16-second victory.

This was the final tune-up before the 2019 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship that will take place in Carmel, Indiana on November 2.
